Aalok Mehta is a Los Angeles and NY based multi-instrumentalist,composer,singer-songwriter, actor and sitar player. Aalok Mehta combines his exploration and performance of Indian Classical music on Sitar with his eclectic experiences in various western traditions to create works of music that cover many genres. Starting on harmonium at the age of seven, Aalok later learned keyboards, guitar, sitar (under the guidance of the esteemed Pt. Nayan Ghosh), and voice. Aalokʼs album “Technicolour” was nominated for an LA Music Award for best Indie Pop record. Having finished a tour in India following heavy rotation on MTV Asia, Mehta took to the Broadway Stage as an actor/singer in the original Broadway Cast of Andrew Lloyd Weberʼs and AR Rahmanʼs Bombay Dreams. Aalok is also a session musician and composer with his music featured in Film, TV and Theatre.
